How to Get Court Records
Start any Greene County court records request at Search ARCourts. The search hands back the case number, court location, case style, and event date. Write those down. Then pick the right office. The Greene County Circuit Clerk holds the Circuit Court files. That means criminal, civil, domestic-relations, and authorized juvenile matters. The District Court Clerk keeps traffic, misdemeanor, ordinance, district civil, and small-claims files. Probate is trickier. Local pages list both the Circuit Clerk and the County Clerk in that role.
- Search online and copy the case number exactly, including all letters, punctuation, and the court location.
- Call the Circuit Clerk at 870-239-6330, District Clerk at 870-239-7507, or County Clerk at 870-239-6311 to confirm custody.
- Name the specific docket, complaint, motion, order, judgment, disposition, or other filed document needed.
- Ask whether the request can be handled at the counter, by phone, fax, or mail, since Greene County publishes no universal copy-order form.
- Confirm the page count, copy type, payment method, delivery method, authorization needs, and expected completion before sending funds.
For Circuit files in person, go to Room 124. The office sits at 320 West Court Street in Paragould. The published Circuit fax number is 870-239-3550. Call first. Confirm the office will accept a faxed copy order. Greene County publishes no official email-order route or drop box. It lists no mail form, identification rule, or fixed turnaround for court records. The county's public-record routing page steers ordinary court-copy requests to the Circuit Clerk. It doesn't promise an online document download.
Greene County Court Records Layers
A docket entry and the paper behind it are two different things. Search ARCourts may say an order was entered yet attach no document link. That's normal. The entry is just an index of action. The filed order holds the judge's actual text. A certified copy adds the clerk's authentication whenever you need an official reproduction of a Greene County court record.
| Record layer | What it provides | Best source |
|---|---|---|
| Docket or case detail | Case header, parties, events, settings, and available outcome data | Search ARCourts or the correct clerk |
| Filed document | The actual pleading, motion, order, judgment, or exhibit that an entry describes | Circuit or District Clerk, subject to access rules |
| Certified copy | A clerk-authenticated reproduction of a record held by that office | The custodian of the original file |
A printout from a public case-detail screen works fine for personal research. It is not automatically a certified Greene County court record.
Types of Court Records
Which office you need depends on the court level. Labels like criminal or civil don't decide it. Circuit Court records can include felony case files, large civil actions, domestic-relations matters, and probate matters. Authorized juvenile files and appeals from District Court land there too. District Court records cover misdemeanors, traffic citations, and city ordinances. They also hold civil claims within its limit and small claims. County Court records handle county-government business. They don't hold an ordinary trial docket at all.
- Chronological docket sheets and public case-detail records
- Complaints, petitions, answers, motions, notices, and affidavits
- Signed orders, judgments, dispositions, and sentencing papers
- Public criminal, civil, domestic-relations, probate, and lower-court files
- Authorized copies from juvenile, sealed, or otherwise restricted files
A hearing transcript is its own product. The clerk keeps filed papers and orders, while the official court reporter produces the word-for-word transcript. Know the judge and the hearing. Then ask the judge's office or the reporter about the price and any required deposit.
Greene County Court Records Transcripts
Don't expect a transcript at the same copy counter that sells a complaint or order. Start with the basics. Gather the Greene County judge, hearing date, and case number first. Then ask the judge's office. Find out which official court reporter covered the proceeding. The reporter quotes the production cost and any deposit, not the clerk. Greene County publishes no standard transcript price.

What a Court Record Contains
A complete Greene County court record can run much deeper than the public event list. Search ARCourts labels its online views case information and case detail. The clerk's file may hold every public paper the court accepted, while the online view shows an index plus whatever document images the system permits. Fields change with case type and with what the court entered.
| Case number and style | The court-assigned identifier and the caption or description of the matter. |
|---|---|
| Case header | Filing date, filing type, court location, and current status. |
| Participants | Names or organizations, party roles, and counsel when entered. |
| Events and settings | Dated filings, court events, hearings, resets, and outcomes in sequence. |
| Claims or charges | Civil cause information or criminal count, offense, class, and disposition data. |
| Orders and judgments | Signed rulings in the maintained file, even when no public PDF appears online. |
| Financial entries | Assessments, payments, and balances when recorded, with the clerk as authority. |
Copy the case number exactly as displayed. Greene County circuit numbers may carry county code 28, like 28CR-25-..., but no local public codebook lets you guess a full number.
Greene County Court Records eFlex Limits
Arkansas eFlex handles electronic filing, not public searching. An account holder who knows the county and a case number can pull up a case summary. That is the outer edge of it. Reading electronically filed documents from afar is a privilege. It is reserved mostly for parties and their counsel of record. So this gate is not a seal on the whole case. For a Greene County court docket, the public route still runs through Search ARCourts. A request to the clerk rounds it out.
The official eFlex resource center lays out registration, filing steps, access rules, fees, training, and support. All of it covers Greene County court records filed electronically.
A docket entry with no clickable document usually means the file sits behind the paid eFlex route. The free public case-information screen in Greene County shows the docket itself, but a filing account is something separate, and telling the two apart saves a frustrating dead end.
Certified Copies and Fees
A plain copy just reproduces whatever the record shows. A certified copy goes further. The clerk stamps it to confirm authenticity. Greene County sets separate prices for Circuit Clerk records and County Clerk records, so never carry one office's fee over to the other. The local page posts no District Court copy or certification amounts.
| Item | Published charge | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Public case detail | Free | Search ARCourts is not necessarily complete or official |
| Circuit Clerk plain copy | $0.20 | Office wording should be confirmed as per-page pricing |
| Circuit Clerk certified copy | $5 | Confirm whether pages are added to certification |
| County Clerk plain copy | $0.25 per page | Confirm that office holds the probate or county record |
| County Clerk certification | $5 | County Clerk states cash or money order |
| District copy or certification | Not published | District office states money order or cashier's check for these fees |
The county posts no exemplified-copy fee, archive search price, transcript price, or standard turnaround. Get a full quote before you order.
Greene County Court Records Offline Files
When a docket search comes up empty, several things could explain it. The spelling may be off. The court level may be wrong. Or the record may be too old to have migrated. A legal restriction can hide a file too. A blank result does not prove the case never existed. Start with the exact case number. If that fails, contact the right clerk. Bring the party or organization name, the rough filing year, the court level, and any former number. Ask whether the file sits in paper, on microfilm, or off site.
Greene County publishes no online-coverage start year. There is no stated digitization cutoff, public-terminal promise, archive charge, or standard completion time. Those gaps make one phone call worthwhile. For probate, describe the matter. Then ask both the Circuit and County clerks which office holds the file before you travel or send payment.
Note: a portal omission and a sealed file call for different next steps. Ask the clerk which condition applies without requesting protected details.
Greene County Court Records Compiled Data
Arkansas offers a second, wider route through its Administrative Office of the Courts. Compiled court information travels that way, using a Request for Compilation of Court Information. Excluded data can trigger extra requirements. The AOC may demand an affidavit, a license agreement, or a performance bond. This process exists for datasets and specialized extracts. It is no shortcut for a single complaint, order, or certified Greene County court record.
The AOC data-request page lays out the forms. It also covers the Administrative Order 19 framework that govern compiled Greene County court records.
For one case, the clerk holding that court's file stays the faster, more direct route.
Public Access and Sealed Records
Arkansas Supreme Court Administrative Order 19 governs access to court records. It carves out specified confidential data. Administrative Order 19.1 then requires redaction of protected information from the public version, with the unredacted material preserved in a sealed filing where required. The Arkansas Freedom of Information Act supplies broad public-record principles. Case-file access, though, runs through judiciary rules and the court's clerk.
Key Arkansas access rules:
Administrative Order 19 sets the court-record access framework and excludes confidential identifiers and protected information.
Administrative Order 19.1 governs redaction and the filing of protected unredacted material under seal.
Arkansas FOIA, Ark. Code Ann. § 25-19-105 provides inspection and copying principles subject to exemptions and court-specific rules.
Juvenile records stay closed in Greene County. The exceptions are narrow. Attorneys of record and involved government agencies qualify. So does anyone holding a Circuit Judge's signed order. Sealed criminal files, protected family material, Social Security numbers, and account numbers may be withheld or redacted. So may most birth-date data and certain minor identities. A clerk can tell you whether a file is simply offline or legally restricted.
Greene County Court Records Federal Route
Federal cases run on a different system. Greene County sits in the Northern Division. That division belongs to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. State cases never appear in PACER, and federal cases never appear in Search ARCourts. The Jonesboro federal clerk serves the division from the E.C. Gathings Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, 615 South Main Street, Room 312, Jonesboro. The clerk number is 870-972-4610.
PACER is the official public retrieval service for federal courts. CM/ECF handles filing and case management. Through the end of 2026, published PACER charges run about ten cents per page. Case-specific docket reports often cap at three dollars. Quarterly charges of thirty dollars or less get waived. For certified federal copies, go through the federal clerk.
Greene County Court Records Request Route
Greene County's court-copy routing page keeps the rule simple. Ordinary Circuit Court copies belong with the Circuit Clerk. That does not erase the separate roles of the District Court and the County Clerk. Traffic, misdemeanor, ordinance, district civil, and small-claims files all start with the District Clerk. Probate deserves a confirmation call, since the public custody descriptions overlap.
The Greene County public-record page is the official source. It shows which office holds each type of court record.
That routing stops a public-record request from landing in a general county inbox when the Circuit Clerk holds the actual case file.
